De Amerikaanse cartoonist Rube Goldberg was de uitvinder van een complex apparaat dat een kettingreactie teweeg kan brengen. In kleine teams gaan jullie aan de slag om zelf zo’n Rube Goldberg-machine te creëren. Gaan jullie met elkaar concurreren of werk je samen? Je kunt er ook voor kiezen om met het hele team één GROTE kettingreactie te maken. Als dat geen boost geeft aan de teamspirit… UP’s Kettingreactie activiteit is leerzaam, prikkelt de creativiteit en oplossingsgerichtheid en vraagt om serieuze, communicatieve samenwerking van de medewerkers. Maar het belangrijkste van alles; deze activiteit is gewoon superleuk en inspirerend.

#4: Het nieuwe Casa de dinero VR spel

Iedereen heeft het erover; de spannende serie La Casa de dinero. Genoeg reden voor UP Events om hier een toffe belevenis voor neer te zetten die je ook nog eens met grote groepen tegelijk kunt doen. In de VR game Casa de dinero gaan de deelnemers, gewapend met VR-bril, onder leiding van El Profesor de Koninklijke Munt van Spanje overvallen. A few years ago UP Events organized an event for Dura Vermeer at UP's own location, in the Tuinen van West in Amsterdam. The success of this pleasant collaboration led to a new application being received soon after. Dura Vermeer wanted a tailor-made Onboarding game and had a number of specific wishes and goals that this game should contribute to. For example, UP Events helped Dura Vermeer with the wish to give new employees a warm welcome and quickly familiarize them with the company. “We want to distinguish ourselves with our onboarding process in our industry,” says Rick Gouderjaan, HR advisor at Dura Vermeer. He continues: “In addition, we wanted to give substance to our strategic pillar 'digitization' within HR.” Dura Vermeer came to UP Events via via. “A colleague, who previously worked with UP, was very enthusiastic,” says Rick. Flawless collaboration Collaborating on the production of the game is new for many companies, but it works perfectly. This allows the Onboarding Game to be fully tailored to the wishes of the company. “The collaboration went smoothly. Employees use a GPS route with QR codes to walk through the company and answer new questions along the way in order to progress in the game. The structure of the questions can vary from open questions and multiple choice, to interactive questions in which photo & video play a role. The Onboarding Game is not only informative. Een aantal jaar geleden organiseerde UP Events een event voor Dura Vermeer op UP’s eigen locatie, in de Tuinen van West in Amsterdam. Het succes van deze prettige samenwerking leidde ertoe dat al vlot daarna een nieuwe aanvraag binnenkwam. Dura Vermeer wilde graag een op-maat-gemaakt Onboarding spel en had een aantal specifieke wensen en bepaalde doelen waar dit spel aan zou moeten gaan bijdragen.

Zo hielp UP Events Dura Vermeer met de wens om nieuwe medewerkers een warm welkom te geven en snel wegwijs te maken binnen het bedrijf. “Wij willen ons onderscheiden met ons onboarding traject in onze branche”, zegt Rick Gouderjaan, HR-adviseur bij Dura Vermeer. Hij vervolgt: “Daarnaast wilden we onder andere hiermee onze strategische pijler ‘digitalisering’ binnen HR invulling geven.” Dura Vermeer kwam via via terecht bij UP Events. “Een collega, die eerder met UP heeft samengewerkt, was erg enthousiast”, aldus Rick.

Vlekkeloze samenwerking

Het samenwerken aan de productie van het spel is voor veel bedrijven nieuw, maar werkt perfect. Hierdoor kan de Onboarding Game volledig toegespitst worden op de wensen van het bedrijf. “De samenwerking verliep vlekkeloos. De begeleiding en instructies vanuit UP Events waren helder en duidelijk en de game is zeer toegankelijk en gebruiksvriendelijk geworden.” Dura Vermeer zou UP dan ook zeker aanbevelen aan andere bedrijven. “UP is to the point. Ze zijn goed in staat om onze wensen te vertalen in concrete ideeën en oplossingen. Ze zijn servicegericht, creatief en leveren een uniek product. Vragen en opmerkingen werden snel beantwoord en feedback over de game werd snel verwerkt. Er zat een strakke deadline op de ontwikkeling van de game en UP Events deed er alles aan om die te halen.”

Positieve reacties

Bij Dura Vermeer zijn de deelnemers zeer positief. In de enquête die Dura Vermeer achteraf houdt wordt de Onboarding Game bijna altijd genoemd als onderdeel dat de nieuwe medewerkers het meest is bijgebleven op hun eerste dag. “Het werkt goed omdat het naast leerzaam ook leuk is”, aldus Rick. “De nieuwe werknemers leren de organisatie spelenderwijs kennen. Het digitale spel is innovatief, draait om samenwerking, maar ook om competitie en is gewoon erg leuk.”

Wat is een Onboarding Game eigenlijk precies?

Enkele belangrijke vraagstukken waarmee veel bedrijven worstelen bij de start van nieuwe werknemers:

- Hoe krijg je nieuwe medewerkers mee in de bestaande bedrijfscultuur?

- Hoe kunnen nieuwe medewerkers worden meegenomen in de corporate strategie van een bedrijf? De corporate strategie kan soms vrij ingewikkeld zijn – maar is het wél een must dat nieuwe medewerkers hier volledig van doordrongen zijn.

- Hoe kan ervoor worden gezorgd dat nieuwe medewerkers vlot volledig wegwijs worden gemaakt binnen het bedrijf?

Met de Onboarding Game kunnen deze vraagstukken op een toegankelijke manier worden aangepakt. De Onboarding Game draait om:

De Onboarding Game is een ‘tablet game’. Het spel wordt gespeeld in teams en ieder team krijgt een tablet tot zijn beschikking. De grootte van de teams kan naar wens bepaald worden, maar meestal gaat het om teams van 2-6 spelers. Het spel wordt opgebouwd uit diverse vragen over het bedrijf. Het draait om de bedrijfscultuur, de medewerkers, de producten en andere belangrijke informatie voor nieuwe medewerkers.

Middels een GPS-route met QR-codes lopen medewerkers door het bedrijf en beantwoorden onderweg telkens nieuwe vragen om verder te komen in het spel. De structuur van de vragen kan variëren van open vragen en multiple choice, tot interactieve vragen waarbij foto & video een rol spelen.

At UP Events you come for a unique experience. Each event can be completely personalized. UP Events offers more than 100 different activities. Each activity can be combined with a drink, BBQ, snacks or a party. This way you can make your event as sporty, active, serious, relaxed, fun or inspiring as you wish. In addition to activities on UP's special & green site in De Tuinen van West, most activities can also be organized at any other location. How about a city hunt, or a custom-made GPS game in the company building. But UP Events is also the right place for corporate festivals and theme parties: from winter wonderland festival to Summer Festival or Oktoberfest to Casino evening. How about a Hackaton? Hackaton is accessible to everyone. The competitive, exciting game takes place indoors. It is not complicated or physically demanding and because the game is played in teams, everyone can take on a role and use their own strengths. This game is new in the Netherlands and can be played exclusively at UP Events. 1. Getting Started The game starts by dividing the group into different, very strong teams. Then follows an extensive presentation and explanation of the game. The purpose, rules and technology used will be fully understood below. The teams receive a book with 30 riddles and assignments and register on the Hackaton platform (app). On this platform, each team can enter the answers of the riddles into a scoring system, so that the score is kept in real time. And everyone is Ready to Rumble! 2. Hacking Hive Then several rounds will follow. Round 1 and Round 2. The teams get to work to solve as many riddles and problems as possible. The playing field becomes a large Hacking Hive. As the answers are entered into the scoring system, number codes are revealed, coded questions must be answered, and the teams' score is projected live. A nerve-racking, strategic game that requires good cooperation. After Round 1, the final in Round 2 will be played by the best teams from Round 1. 3. How about a Hackaton?

Hackaton is voor iedereen toegankelijk. Het competitieve, spannende spel vindt binnen plaats. Het is niet ingewikkeld of fysiek zwaar en doordat het spel in teams wordt gespeeld kan iedereen een rol aannemen en zijn eigen krachten benutten.

Dit spel is nieuw in Nederland en exclusief te spelen bij UP Events.

1. Getting Started

Het spel begint met het verdelen van de groep in verschillende, ijzersterke teams. Dan volgt een uitgebreide presentatie en uitleg van het spel. Het doel, de regels en de gebruikte technologie zullen hierna volledig duidelijk zijn. De teams ontvangen een boek met 30 raadsels en opdrachten en registreren zich op het Hackaton-platform (app). Op dit platform kan elk team de antwoorden van de raadsels invoeren in een scoresysteem, hierdoor wordt de stand realtime bijgehouden. En is iedereen is Ready to Rumble!

2. Hacking Hive

Dan volgen er verschillende rondes. Ronde 1 en Ronde 2. De teams gaan aan de slag om zoveel mogelijk raadsels en vraagstukken op te lossen. Het speelveld wordt een grote Hacking Hive. Terwijl de antwoorden worden ingevoerd in het scoresysteem, worden cijfercodes onthuld, moeten gecodeerde vragen worden beantwoord en wordt de score van de teams live geprojecteerd. Een zenuwslopend, strategisch spel waarbij goed moet worden samengewerkt. Na Ronde 1 wordt in Ronde 2 de finale gespeeld door de beste teams van Ronde 1.

3. The Grande Finale

In de finale is het enige doel: de code van de kluis kraken. Er staat één enkel raadsel – een tangram puzzel – centraal. Deze Tangram moet worden opgelost om deze kluiscode te onthullen. Het team dat de code als eerste ontcijfert, kan daarmee de kluis openen en heeft gewonnen! De teams die niet in de finale zijn gekomen, gaan ook met elkaar de strijd aan. Teambuilding to the max

De Hackaton game kan met veel teams tegelijk worden gespeeld en is dus ideaal voor grote groepen (20-5000 personen). Voor bedrijven die zoeken naar een actieve teambuilding activiteit met een grote groep mensen, is dit toegankelijke spel dus perfect geschikt.

Er dient zeer goed te worden samengewerkt zodat er synergie plaatsvindt tussen de teamleden. Communicatie speelt een grote rol zodat er collectief kan worden gedacht. Het is verstandig om vooraf een strategie op te zetten én er speelt een stukje time management mee. Tot slot is het slim om een project manager aan te stellen die delegeert en ieder teamlid een rol toebedeelt.
