Belgian Event Agency 'MeetMarcel' wins gold at World BEA in Rome

The World BEA 2023 awards were presented on Friday evening in Rome. The World BEA collects the strongest event cases for an international jury that awards the prizes in the various categories. MEETMARCEL, a Belgian Event Agency, won several prizes with their event OKKULT, organized for Jobfixers. In addition to Gold in the main B2B category, MEETMARCEL also won Bronze in the subcategory 'festivities' and the prize for 'Best creativity'. Last week the national BEA awards were presented in Antwerp and MEETMARCEL also won gold here.

The World BEA, an international festival for events and live communication, collects the strongest event cases such as Ferrari car launches, the opening ceremony of the World Cup Qatar, UAE, etc. In the B2B category, MEETMARCEL won gold for their event OKKULT, leaving Google and Volkswagen behind. . The bronze prize in the 'festivities' subcategory and the prize for 'Best creativity' also went to the Belgian Event Agency.

Jobfixers faces major challenges in the inclusion and integration of certain profiles in a rapidly changing society. For the OKKULT event, organized for Jobfixers, MEETMARCEL was inspired by 'Inferno' by Dante Alighieri and the painting 'Mappa dell'Inferno' by Sandro Botticelli.

The international jury of marketers and press motivated themselves as follows for awarding the three awards for OKKULT: 'very interesting event, the allegorical use of Dante's Inferno to promote hiring 'different or unusual, inclusive' profiles is really smart, congrats!'

Jobfixers is a Belgian company active in the temporary employment sector and to properly celebrate their six-year anniversary, they called on MEETMARCEL to organize and manage this event. Jobfixers is faced with enormous challenges in the inclusion and integration of certain profiles, combined with a rapidly changing society and an uncertain market.

MEETMARCEL found inspiration in a 14th century literary masterpiece written by the Italian writer Dante, La Divine Commedia. In his journey through hell ('Inferno'), there are encounters with beings who have rejected spiritual values and lost their human hope. Dante's universal message fits perfectly with the challenges that Jobfixers face.

For the practical implementation, MEETMARCEL based itself on 'Mappa dell'Inferno' by Sandro Botticelli. The nine concentric circles, inhabited by invisible beings who confront guests with the question of what is strange and what is considered normal, served as a model for the scaffolding construction.

To create the figures, MEETMARCEL collaborated with the Mechelen theater company Abattoir Fermé of theater maker Stef Lernous.

OKKULT took place in the spring for 1,000 guests and 40 actors and 20 performers participated in the event.

Voor het event OKKULT, georganiseerd voor Jobfixers, inspireerde MEETMARCEL zich op 'Inferno' van Dante Alighieri en op het schilderij 'Mappa dell'Inferno' van Sandro Botticelli.

Voor het toekennen van de drie awards voor OKKULT motiveerde de internationale jury van marketeers en pers zich als volgt: ‘very interesting event, the allegorical use of Dante’s Inferno to promote hiring ‘different or unusual, inclusive’ profiles is really smart, congrats!’

Jobfixers is een Belgisch bedrijf actief in de uitzendsector en om hun zesjarig bestaan gepast te vieren deden ze beroep op MEETMARCEL om dit event te organiseren en in goede banen te leiden. Jobfixers wordt geconfronteerd met enorme uitdagingen bij de inclusie en integratie van bepaalde profielen, gecombineerd met een snel veranderende samenleving en een onzekere markt.

Voor de creatie van de figuren werkte MEETMARCEL samen met het Mechelse theatergezelschap Abattoir Fermé van theatermaker Stef Lernous.

OKKULT ging in het voorjaar door voor 1.000 genodigden en er werkten 40 acteurs en 20 performers aan het event mee.
