1931 Congress Center 's-Hertogenbosch exists 10 years today. To celebrate this, the Bossche event location goes online and live 'on tour' to celebrate the ten-year anniversary together with employees, customers and suppliers.

"We look back on 10 beautiful years and to celebrate this milestone, we went in search of a creative and responsible way to reflect on this memorable moment for us. The core of 1931 lies in facilitating meetings and personal Contact is central to this, and this has also been implemented for the anniversary, "says Esmé Stoffelen, Commercial Manager at Libéma Fairs & Events. She has been involved in the opening of the 1931 Congress Center from the very beginning.

Stoffelen continues: "In order to pay attention to our anniversary at this time, we decided to surprise our clients and suppliers. Because despite the corona virus, we have remained active in organizing meetings in various ways. When we did not meet in the spring. live, we have found a service by creating our own studio on location that allows us to continue to facilitate (albeit online) meetings between people. In this way we have always maintained good and personal contact with clients and suppliers. We thank them for the good cooperation of the past years with a multitude of encounters; from personal video messages, tasty treats to a visit with a food truck. "

History Bossche Veemarkt

Because the growing trade in animals in public places - such as local squares - caused increasing nuisance, the first fully covered cattle market complex in the Netherlands was opened in 1931 by mayor Frans van Lanschot; the Bossche Veemarkt. The Bossche Veemarkt started every Wednesday morning at 5:30 am, but on the other days of the week the building was often empty. That is why agricultural events were also organized on these days, such as the national Easter cattle and meat inspections.

In the 1990s, the property was taken over by Libéma. The building was placed on the list of National Monuments in 2001, in the same year the foot-and-mouth disease epidemic broke out in Europe. The measures that prevented the epidemic from spreading further led to the closure of the Bossche Veemarkt. After trade in the livestock market had stood still for a few years, the renovation of the monumental building began in 2009. On February 3, 2010, an important phase - the restoration of the monumental and striking tower - was completed in the construction project. Not long after this the 1931 Congress Center opened

's-Hertogenbosch.

In those ten years, 1931 has grown into one of the leading event locations with some 11,000 m2 on the ground floor. of space. 1931 continues to be developed by, among other things, responding to the current market demand for larger events. Combinations between Brabanthallen and 1931 were already possible and since a year 1931 has been expanded with a new plenary space; MAINSTAGE. The capacity has thus doubled from 3,000 people to 6,000 people.

Focus on conference market

"We are extremely proud that more than 50% of our clients return to our location. Partly due to the proven success of 1931, the parent company of 1931; Libéma Fairs & Events is now fully focused on the conference market, and the success of 1931 is also rolling out at other Libéma locations such as Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen and Omnisport in Apeldoorn, "said Stoffelen.
