The tour is well organised, informative and engaging. The authentic Jeeps and the passion of the guide make it a unique experience that you will not soon forget.
In honor of the 80th commemoration of WWII, I participated in the Rent-A-Willys Warbird Route. Behind the wheel of an authentic Willys Jeep, our group explored the area around Grembergen Airport and felt like I went back in time. The ride was more than a tour, it was a compelling journey through the past.
The guide, passionate about local history, shared a wealth of information and anecdotes about World War II in the region. Stories about heroic pilots, secret operations and the courage of the resistance came to life. The maps and photos shown provided additional context and made the experience even more realistic.
The route took us past several locations with historical significance, including aircraft crash sites and bunker remains. It was moving to realize that I was driving in places where crucial events had taken place decades ago.
The Willys Jeep itself contributed to the unique experience. Driving this iconic vehicle, which symbolizes freedom and perseverance, was an unforgettable experience. The Jeep brought me closer to history and allowed me to experience the courage and ingenuity of the soldiers of that time.
The Warbird Route from Rent-A-Willys is more than recommended for anyone interested in WWII. It is a moving and educational experience that takes you to a crucial moment in our history.
