No imposing entrance or red carpet in this hotel. There is nothing to indicate that behind this simple facade of the Oude Houtlei there was once a modest monastery: PoortAckere. 'An island lost in the whirlpool of a noisy city'. A historic site located in the heart of the art city of Ghent. Monasterium PoortAckere in the lively city center of Ghent offers a unique location to party. In 1998 the last sisters left and the neo-Gothic monastery was renovated into a hotel, group restaurant, seminar room and party location. They have managed to preserve the authenticity while still offering all modern amenities. The atmosphere, the courtyard garden, the chapter houses and the church stun the guests. The former Sint-Autbertuskerk offers space for 150 people for a banquet or 200 guests for a walking dinner. But dinners, receptions or barbecues can also be organized for smaller groups. The menu offers a large choice. A piece of seventh heaven on earth!
